I just finished watching the 2010 documentary “Waiting for Superman.” And I have to say, my mind was fucking blown. I’ve never felt so depressed about my education, and about the American Public School System as a whole. I feel like I want to go back in time and go to a boarding school or a charter school or something. Maybe specialize in writing.
But anyway, I highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend it. It’s not just informative, it’s just an excellent documentary. It kind of changed my perspective on certain things. I think if I ever get to a place where I’m influential (a man can dream right?) I might look into education and what I can do, personally (RE: Nothing).
But yeah. Check it out. :]
Yes and no. I really appreciate my country’s rich history, I appreciate our constitution. The U.K. doesn’t actually have a free speech amendment, which is why their tabloids aren’t craycray and they’re allowed to sue people for libel. But our constitution guarantees us the ability to say whatever the fuck we want no matter what, which is lovely.
But I don’t like how the rest of the world views our nation. I don’t like American Exceptionalism, or the imperialistic attitudes that come with it. I don’t like how we’re simultaneously the fatty country and the Spartan war mongers. I hate how we’re looked down upon for being stupid or simple minded.
I hate how Southern accents are considered American accents. No. Just no.
But I like how we have Los Angeles and New York City, two beacons of creativity on either side of our state. I like some aspects of my home country, and I hate other aspects. But I am honestly proud to be a part of all that.
I’m mother fuckin’ American that way, y’know?
If we cut Planned Parenthood the $$ saved could sustain the war for 3 hrs 51 mins. $75 mil for 800 clinics a yr or 4 hrs of war. Priorities?
I don’t need to add anything.
